THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME
You’re probably overwhelmed with all the wedding information out there, but don’t worry, you’re not alone!I’m here to help you document one of the biggest days of your life so you can have beautiful memories for years to come! The information in this planning guide is meant to help you with all your photography-related questions, so you can relax & get excited about your big day! If you still have questions, let’s discuss them either on the phone or send me an email! I’m here to help you every step of the way!

The Process
What to expect:
01. Let’s Chat!
You've thoroughly combed through my website, blog and Instagram feed and you like what you see. So the next step is setting up a time to chat to make sure we're the perfect fit for one another and discuss all the little details that can easily get overlooked in an email!
02. Seal the Deal
After the phone consultation, I will have a much better idea of your specific needs to make your dream wedding photos a reality. I will put together a custom quote specific to your plans which is available to view and confirm online. Once you have confirmed your quote, all that is left is a quick signature (from both of you!) and to pay the retainer to secure your date!
03. Engagement Session
Sessions can take place anywhere from immediately following a proposal to just a few days before the wedding. We’ve found that there isn’t a “good” or “bad” time to take your photos. Let's get you comfortable in front of the camera & get to know each other!
04. Wedding Prep
Let’s get organized! I’ll check in about 6-8 weeks before the wedding to start chatting about timeline specifics, special details, family formal shot lists, special traditions and anything else I should know about your big day!
05. The Big Day!
It's finally here! The day the two of you say "I Do" and dance the night away surrounded by your family and friends. Just know we're excited to celebrate and capture your wedding day. It's going to be awesome!
06. They’re here!
You can expect your photos to be delivered via an online gallery within about six to eight weeks of your wedding!

Engagement Session

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life! Making you feel comfortable and looking your best is what I strive for.
Your engagement session not only gives you a beautiful set of photos to cherish, but it also allows us to get to know each other & you get to experience what your photography will be like on your wedding day!
Choosing a Location
I recommend choosing a location that is meaningful to you perhaps where you went on a first date, a place you visit every year, a beautiful park where you take your dog for a walk, or even the top of a mountain (I’m always up for an adventure)!
What to Wear
If you’re jeans & t-shirts type of people, wear that! If you’re the couple who likes to dress up and go all out - do that! Be you! Wear what makes you feel comfortable! Don’t dress up in something just because you feel like you should.
Do choose outfits that complement one another. Nothing overly matchy-matchy or patterned bold prints. Choose neutral tones and avoid super bright colours.Plan for 2 outfits each during your session! If you have any hesitations about your outfits, please send me a picture and I’ll provide some suggestions!

Your Big Day!
There are so many things to think of on your day! About 8 weeks prior, I’ll send you a questionnaire to complete covering all the nitty-gritty! I will ask you a bunch of questions BUT this will ensure we don’t miss any special moments!

FAQ’s

What type of camera/equipment do you use?
My main body is a Sony A7iii with a back-up Canon Rebel T5i. Lenses include a 25-70 mm 3.8-5.6 and a 50mm 1.8 & flash
Do you back up our images? How can we ensure that our images won’t be lost?
During your event, I shoot on two cards at the same time. This instantly creates a backup of every image in the camera. Afterward, I separate the primary cards from the backup cards, should anything happen to one set. I back up the images to 2 separate hard drives. At any given point before delivery of the images, there are two copies of the files in separate locations!
How do I reserve you for my date?
Your dates are reserved once I receive your signed contract and retainer.
Are there travel fees associated with the engagement session and/or wedding day?
Included in your package is 75 km roundtrip mileage from Lacombe or Calgary for both the engagement session and wedding. Additional mileage charges will be discussed at the time of booking!
Do you deliver every image you shoot?
O no! I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. For example, if I shoot with low apertures, sometimes I take a few extra shots to make sure I have the perfect focus. In another example, candid laughs and emotional tears are some of the best images from the day. Unfortunately, they can also yield some unflattering facial expressions. I will likely snap a few extras of any of these moments to make sure I have a great shot with the ideal expression for the moment. I eliminate the ones I feel are duplicates & only deliver the best to you!
Do you touch up all the images in our image download?
You bet! Every image delivered is post-produced. This involves colour correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, tone-mapping, and other minor corrections. I don’t do head swaps, body slimming, face reshaping or any big alterations.
What rights do I have to the digital prints?
You have the right to reprint images whenever you want! However, you may not sell your images for profit or publish your images without written consent from me.
Do you provide the RAW files from my engagement session and/or wedding day?
Each of my packages comes with a full resolution JPG download. However, I typically do not provide RAW (unprocessed) files from shoots because I believe in delivering a finished product.
What is the turnaround time for our wedding gallery?
The standard turnaround time for delivery of your wedding photos is 8 weeks & engagement photos within 2-3 weeks — however, depending on the time of year it may be sooner! I will often send a sneak peek of 10-20 images within a few days following the wedding so you can at least share a few with family and friends right away!
Do you watermark your photos?
Nope! I strongly believe you should have photos that are unmarked.
How do you photograph with all the restrictions in place?
If it’s legal and safe - I’ll photograph you! I cannot participate in weddings that do not comply with the government guidelines at the time of the wedding. When possible, I’ll maintain the recommended 6’ distance from all guests. Sessions will be no-contact posing, which means I will guide you from a safe distance. As this is not always possible, I will wear a mask when in close quarters! If I were to start exhibiting symptoms or have to self-quarantine and your event is within 14 days, you will have the option to cancel your booking and receive a refund or I will have an associate photographer work at your event in my place.
What happens if I have to cancel or reschedule?
If you book me for your wedding and your event cancels due to health restrictions, and I’m available on that future date, you can apply your retainer to a future date up to 18 months in advance! If you choose to cancel your wedding instead of rescheduling, your non-refundable retainer and any fees already paid (minus the cost of any services already rendered i.e. engagement session, time spent on email correspondence and planning) may be used toward other photography services within the next 18 months.
